With space-specific themes starting O2space on the basement, the exhibition is in a more friendly format with artworks about common subjects. First, the basement or memory space is a place to look back the past to recall childhood or things that you saw or experienced somewhere. Secondly, the slope space located on the way to the second floor displays common emotion felt in the journey of life facing the truth of nature that family is born in nature, live in the nature and return to nature. Exhibition Hall 2 on the second floor reflects anxiety and Fear. The space shows severe yet continued fear about particular objects or situations. There may be different types of fear depending on what one has gone through; for example, fear of height, war, shock, accident, horror movies, social psychology, which are reflected on the artworks. In addition, Exhibition Hall 3 is a space to manifest oneself as an Existence. Human in this space is a social being with dignity/position that draws attention from others, a target, an infamous existence, an outstanding being, and an existence not to be overlooked in a region. Such phenomenon helps viewers discover the value of existence of their self, the fundamental existence that is the basis of change. The second exhibition spaces in Exhibition Hall 3 reveals the capability of potential that seeks the world of one’s independent imaginary (Life to come) world, and recognizes the relationship formed between the macroscopic society and individual action belonged to it. The artworks exhibit the ability that recognizes individual characteristics of the contemporary world and creative practice, and unique creativity that employs a variety of internal relationships which dream the future. Lastly, the third exhibition spaces in the Exhibition Hall 3 showcases the hope for a life with Happiness in Yangpyeong. There are various types of happiness in our life. Besides wealth and inborn nature, many factors in our lives affect happiness such as religion, family relationship, health, job, friendship, social relations, etc. Such factors create synergy effect; emerge as happiness affecting the life of time. We hope that life in Yangpyeong is happy. Yangpyeong Art Museum attempted to understand contemporary family culture and enhance the culture in Yangpyeong through the special exhibition in May, Just as the local museum opened in the barren land (16 December 2011), planted a seed of local art culture, embodied a new standard for museum with creative operation uncommon in Korea, and has born fruits of art culture.
