The winter project MediaCity Exhibition to celebrate the 8th anniversary of Yangpyeong Art Museum displays pieces of over 40 artists including Kim Gu-rim, Lee Yi-nam, Gwon Jeong-ho, Kim Chang-gyeong, An Se-gwon, Bernd Halbherr, Jang Seung-hyo, Kim Yong-min, Choi Jong-woon, Han Ho, Ha Won, Lee jae-hyeong, and Solbi as well as world-famous video artist Baek Nam-jun. They will open a new media age in four spaces in the museum.

At the 8th anniversary, Yangpyeong Art Museum puts art on science.

Over 70 artworks created with cutting-edge IT technology make winter of garden city Yangpyeong hot. 

At its 8th anniversary, Yangpyeong Art Museum holds the 2019 Fine Art Travel-4 Winter Project MediaCity. It is a new type of exhibition displaying art pieces combining art and science. The exhibition will start on December 13, and continue until February 16, 2020.

The works are displayed in four spaces with themes.

First, visitors face a big-size air figure at the first exhibition hall with the theme of 'Compassion of memory'. By offering memories of daily lives in history with the forms of media artworks, the hall opens a new media age as communication space between past, present, and future.

In the slope space with the theme of 'Expansion of Sense', neon lights shining the lights of dawn passes the life time in nature, and repeats the cycle of creation. Installations becomes the lights toward the future with the mystery of dynamic fantasy, and expands the sense of the age.

As science, art, and philosophy are fused, a work is completed. 'Happy Media' space widely shows the media world of artificial intelligence (Ai, Interactive Art). Installations in this space respond to sensors to make lights and sounds, as performers cooperate in orchestra. visitors experience happy fine art travel.

The Media City Exhibition is a new media art exhibition where various visual and other media arts like interactive art, AI, big data, VR, AR, and MR are combined. It is a winter project designed by Yangpyeong Art Museum to celebrate the 8th anniversary of it. By offering a new modern art leading the glocal culture to local residents, the museum wants to contribute to the localization era responding to the 4th Industrial Revolution, and give opportunity to enjoy the works of world-class artists.

Along with the exhibition, Yangpyeong Art Museum holds other subsidiary events such as Weekend Child Creative Art School, Museum Concert (for classic music), Bonfire Music Meeting, Scholastic Seminar, Child Musical, and Magic Show are scheduled.
